America had been ruled over by Great Britain for many years. But now America was a free, independent country. Great Britain could no longer have any claim on the land or government. The biggest influence was that British couldn't force the 13 colonies to pay them taxes. The colonists no longer had to had to pay taxes on tea, glass, paper, paint, and etc. Paying taxes was the major thing that made the colonists mad in the the time when Britain instituted a number of new tax laws to the 13 colonies. But the 13 colonies didn't have to worry about that problem any m ore. They had their own government and Great Britain was out of their way.
